REQUESTING BOOKS @ VALPLIBRARY-LIVE!!!

How to Request Items from the Valparaiso Community Library

Step One:

Download the main page readokaloosa.org to your web browser.

Step Two:

Go to library search and scroll down to Valparaiso (we cannot obtain items from the other Okaloosa libraries due to no courier/delivery services).

Step Three:

Decide how you want to search the catalog – title / author / subject / series title

Step Four:

Here is an example of a search for Dr. Seuss. Scroll to the bottom of the page to verify the item is at our location. If the Item is checked out, the status tab will state so.

Step Five:

Select the item/s you want and scan over the entry (picture, title and author).  Right click to copy and then paste it to a word document (make sure the word document has your first and last name with middle initial and telephone number).  When you are finished, save your word document.

Step Six:

How to e-mail

Attach your word document to your personal e-mail account and send it to Valp.Reads@gmail.com.

Once we receive your e-mail, your requested items will be pulled and checked out on your library account.  After giving you notification for pickup, we will place your items in a shopping bag with your name attached for you to pick-up on the front porch. Please call us before you arrive so your items will be waiting.  We will need to see an identification through the front doors (library card will work). Your items then will be placed on a book cart for you to receive – there should be no direct contact between you and the library’s staff.

Please place the items being returned into our Drop Box (Valparaiso items please).
