Escape the heat and join us at the library for summer movies! We have movies for families (or individuals) and movies for teens. Movies are classified according to their rating and content. Like Our Library

Our library has finally created a fan page for our patrons! Click the Facebook logo and “Like” us to show your support for the Valparaiso Community Library. Discarded Book Sale

Checkout the book sale at our library. Books for sale include fictional works, how-to-guides, and military history to name a few.

We are also selling complete book collections such as Ocean World of Jacques Cousteau, Macmillan’s Encyclopedia of Science, Encyclopedia Britannica and many more.

Library Hours of Operation:

  • Monday 9:00 – 7:00
  • Tuesday – Thursday 9:00 – 6:00
  • Friday 9:00 – 5:00

Learn a language @ your library!

The Valparaiso Community Library will offer French classes on Wednesday afternoons from 2-4 during the summer for beginners of all ages.  Reservations must be made before June 1.

The library also offers the Rosetta Stone language program in Spanish.  To reserve the Spanish language computer call the library at 729-5406

Looking for free summer time activities for children? The library is a great place to visit this summer. Beginning June 8 through August 21 our library has planned programs to keep children, and adults alike, actively reading and creating various crafts. Please read below for a list of scheduled days and time.

  • Monday: “Be Creative @ Your Library” from 1:00 – 3:00
  • Tuesday:”Story time” (9:30 – 10:45) and “Afternoon Movies” (4:00)
  • Thursday: “Express Yourself @ the Library” from 1:00 – 3:00
