…Technology Overload…

“The greatest sign of success for a teacher… is to be able to say, ‘The children are now working as if I did not exist.’”
– Maria Montessori

With the recent incident of Hurricane Michael destroying certain locations in Panama city, what better way to overcome a disaster than Tech Day on how we can improve as a community. Employees from all over the Florida Panhandle area, traveled out to Florida State University in Panama City to connect minds and ideas. Rooting on our employee Sarah, she introduced our 3D printer and the process of starting a maker-space.
Upon traveling to different classes, we were introduced to several examples of robots who can battle other robots and even dance to music.
Another great technology that is taking over the world is the virtual reality. This allows children and

adults to explore the 3D possibilities of traveling to NASA land points on Mars, study the human body, and even chill out and find your zen. Who said we still can’t be young at heart and have a little fun?
Vicky and Dorothee introduced their pancake maker that allows you to digitally pick a clip art and then eat it. Our librarians have been working hard to get you what you need to be updated with technology. Below are the glimpses of our day exploring the world of technology and what Valparaiso would like to offer our patrons. Feel free to contact your librarian and tell us what you think would enhance our library.
